Antique French Napoleon III Glove Box

Description

A good example of an antique French glove box dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is veneered with kingwood in a parquetry design and the top has a beautifully inlaid brass cartouche engraved 'E.S'. The top is edged in brass and the front of the box is hinged to open downwards. It comes with a working key.
It is in very good condition for its age and the interior is clean and tidy. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside of the box and some small losses to areas of veneer around the base (see photos) but nothing detrimental and overall it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
