Description

A large Victorian oak ships barometer made by highly regarded maker Mappin & Webb, London, fully serviced and working c.1885. The solid turned and carved oak case with rope twist design border. Porcelain dial with weather predictions around the outer edge with highlighted red capitals and makers name to the centre, all sat behind bevelled edge glass, which is mounted in a polished brass bezel with central reading marker. The aneroid movement is fully serviced and working and presented in superb condition with a rich polish to the case. Keep up to date via our Instagram channel - sturmansantiques.
