Description

A lovely set of large brass scales dating from the late 19th Century. The scales are made of brass with brass pans suspended on a steel beam and they are set on a mahogany base. The beam is stamped AVERY and the scales are also marked W&T AVERY. They come with 4 various brass weights.
The scales are in very good condition and display well. The brass has tarnished slightly over time and there are signs of age and use and some minor marks but nothing detrimental. Although complete, they are really being sold as a decorative collectors item rather than an accurate scientific instrument.
