Description

A good example of an antique stick back farmhouse chair dating from the late 19th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved arms supported by turned spindles. It is high backed with narrow spindles standing on turned legs joined by a central stretcher.
The chair stands approximately 35" (89cm) high and is 21" (53cm) wide across the arms. The seat is 17" (43cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high.
It is in good original condition with a lovely patina. There are signs of age and use and some marks and knocks here and there but nothing detrimental and it displays well. There are some signs of historic woodworm in places which has all been treated as a precaution and the chair is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
