Description
A lovely Worcester teapot stand of hexagonal shape with scallop fluted walls and rim. Hand painted with a blue scale ground with "vase and mirror" shaped reserves painted in a kakiemon palette in what is often called the "wheatsheaf" pattern, alongside stylised flowering branches and chrysanthemums. Each reserve framed with gilt detail and finished with a gilt rim. Fretted square mark to the base, c.1770. It measures 13cm (5 1/8") by 14.8cm (5 13/16") wide and 2cm (3/4") high. In excellent condition: there is a small glaze loss to the underside of the rim on one corner; there is a slight firing abnormality to that small area so that probably lead to a weakness and the resultant loss, rather than actual damage (shown in the final photo). No other damage, repair or restoration and minor handling wear. A short firing line down the reverse of one of the flute creases. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay card payments by Stripe rather than Paypal, please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported by Klarna. Price includes UK postage. We ship worldwide for a small cost, please ask for details. For US customers, current tariff charges of 10% must be paid in advance of posting. Please contact us to go through the details. We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days.
