Description

A beautiful small lacquered tabletop cabinet dating from the early 20th Century. The cabinet is adorned with ornate engraved metal hinges, strapping and corner pieces and is decorated with traditional images of birds and flowers. It is an unusual shape with a drawer at the top above two doors opening to reveal 4 small drawers inside the cabinet, each with a delicate metal handle and decorated with images of foliage and leaves. There is a larger drawer below the doors with a nicely shaped front and it stands on small bracket feet.
The piece is in good condition for its age. There is some wear and rubbing to the lacquer in places and general signs of age and use but the hinges are in good order and the drawers are clean and tidy. There is no key but the closing latch works well. The metal work is slightly tarnished in places but overall it displays very well.
