Description

An antique VICTORIAN Silver Gilt Snuff box hallmarked for BIRMINGHAM 1893 by renowned maker HENRY MATTHEWS.
With beautiful embossed flowers and scrolls to the lid and base. The 2 central cartouches on either side are free of initials.
The interior has a gilt wash.
Measuring 5.5 cm x 4.5 cm x 2 cm and weighs 40.8 grams.
In very good antique condition, the hallmarks are good (Makers mark is rubbed but legible), hinge working well , there is surface wear and small dings/dents around the sides, gilding is still bright, embossing very nice. Usual signs of wear commensurate of age and use.
