Description

A good example of a solid silver snuff box with a hinged lid. It has a lovely rounded shape that fits snugly into the palm of your hand and it is decorated all over with an ornate swirling design around a central cartouche engraved 'RR'.
It is stamped with various hallmarks and clearly stamped '84' denoting Russian origin. There are town and maker's stamps as well but I can't identify them. It likely dates from the late 19th / early 20th Century.
It is a good quality piece and it weighs approximately 105g.
It is in good condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays well. There are some faint surface marks and a couple of small dents on the corners but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
