Description

An unusual small antique Gothic Revival oak book stand dating from circa 1910. This charming book stand has two upright bookends with pointed, gothic-arch style crests flanked by ornate scrollwork carvings depicting stylized sea-creatures or mythical fish. It is supported by low, dragon carved feet that raise the base slightly off a flat surface.

Condition Report:
Good condition with original patina. Solid and sturdy. General wear and marks commensurate with age. An old mend to one of the carved fish. Base is unevenly sun-faded to one side.
