Artist: Ernest Herbert Whydale (1886–1952)
Title: Two Gypsy Figures by a Tree

Date: circa 1927
Signature: Pencil signed lower margin
Subject: English rural / figurative scene
Condition: Good overall condition with minor age-related marks and handling consistent with a work approaching 100 years old. Please study the photographs carefully as these form part of the condition description.
Whydale exhibited extensively at the Royal Academy and specialised in rural English subjects. His work is represented in public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum and Fitzwilliam Museum.
