Description

This is a Victorian panel-moulded bird feeder dating from the early part of the 19th century, c1840.
The bird feeder is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear commensurate with 150+ years of use.
The bird feeder is cone-shaped, is moulded with eight vertical panels and is surmounted by a blue glass ball finial above an annular collar. The feeder is otherwise plain save for the "spout". The feeder has a kicked-in base and measures 7 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter and 11.5 cm (4.6 inches) from end to end of the spout. The bird feeder is 17 cm (6.8 inches) in height.
There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 160 g. (~ 6 oz.).
