Description

A fine quality Victorian cast brass weighted door stop by highly collected maker William Tonks Ltd c.1880. Cast brass foot with ornate decoration and tapering stem above, beaded decoration to the centre and carrying handle to the top with acanthus leaf decoration to the mount. Cast iron infill weight set behind the brass front. Bears the maker mark for William Tonks Ltd to the rear, who are a highly regarded and collected brass foundry based in Birmingham.
