Description

Antique silver fob watch and chain.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a little unevenness.
The watch measures 37mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop (this is fob watch size, smaller than a standard 50mm pocket watch). The case is 935 silver, so slightly purer than sterling, and there are Continental marks inside both of the back covers. The case is beautifully chased and it is in beautiful condition.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The dial looks good to the naked eye… on close inspection, there are a couple of hairline cracks. Pin-set hands.
The watch comes with a single chain, 24.5cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The date letters are difficult to read but as it is a graduated chain, it probably dates to around the same period as the watch. Each of the links has the silver lion mark. The chain weighs 15g.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
